Privacy and what happens to your numbers

The calculators run in your browser, so the numbers you type are never sent to a server and are never stored by the desk.

Calculators and entered numbers

Every calculator on this site runs in your browser. The lot size, price or margin figure you type is processed on your own device and is not transmitted to the desk or to any third party.

Nothing you enter is logged, saved to an account or attached to an email. Closing the tab clears it, and the desk has no way to see what you calculated.

What Tasman Coin holds and what it never asks you for

Tasman Coin stores only what is needed to run a reference site: the pages you request, the broker link you clicked, and any settings your browser saves locally such as your last-used calculator inputs. It does not hold an account for you, and it never asks for your name, date of birth, address, bank details, PayID identifier or driver licence. Anything that identifies you as a customer belongs to the broker, not to this site.

The site does not collect your bitcoin holdings, position size, wallet addresses or trading history. The margin figure shown in a worked example, about $385.00 for a 0.10-lot position at 1:200, is produced inside your browser and is not transmitted to us. There is no login, no member area and no stored profile, so there is no record here that ties a calculation back to a person.

What is deliberately absent matters as much as what is present. We hold no payment details because nothing is sold here, no KYC documents because no account is opened here, and no marketing list built from your email unless you choose to write to us. If a page ever appears to request sensitive information under the Tasman Coin name, treat it as suspect and verify through the broker directly before entering anything.

Your rights over data held here and the practical way to exercise them

You can ask what personal information, if any, this site holds about you, request correction, request deletion, and object to measurement. In practice most requests will return very little, because the site is built not to hold identifying records. The right still applies, and the way to use it is to write to us with enough detail for us to search: the approximate date, the pages involved and the browser you used.

Requests are handled by locating whatever correspondence or referral record exists and acting on it. Deletion means the record is removed from the live system; correction means the inaccurate part is amended. If your request concerns an account you hold with FxPro, it must go to FxPro, because we have no access to broker records and cannot amend or delete them on your behalf. Sending the request to the wrong party only delays it.

You also control most of this without contacting anyone. Clearing cookies and local storage in your browser removes preference data immediately, and blocking measurement cookies stops the counting from happening at all. For complaints about how a broker handled your personal information, use the broker's own complaints process; for anything about this site's handling, contact us first so the issue can be resolved directly.

Third parties that receive data and the limits on what they get

Three kinds of third party are involved: the analytics provider that counts visits, the broker FxPro when you follow a link, and the infrastructure that serves these pages. Each receives only what is technically required for its function. The analytics provider sees request data such as page address, approximate region and browser type; the broker sees the referral and then whatever you choose to give it during its own onboarding. We do not sell data to anyone.

The broker relationship carries the important caveat for Australian readers. FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK) and CySEC. It does not hold an ASIC licence, so Australian residents deal with the offshore entity — check this before funding. That means the privacy terms, complaint routes and dispute processes that apply to your account are the broker's offshore arrangements, not Australian ones, and you should read them before you deposit.

We do not pass your calculator inputs to any third party, because those values never leave your browser. We also do not embed third-party advertising networks or social pixels on these pages. If that ever changes, the change will be announced under this policy before the new party is introduced, and the description of what it receives will be written in the same plain terms used here.

Retention periods, what sets them, and what actually deletes a record

How long anything is kept depends on what it is. Preference data such as your last calculator inputs lives in your browser and lasts until you clear it or the browser expires it; we cannot extend that from our side. Aggregate visit counts are kept for a defined reporting window and then discarded, because a count of page views has no further use once the trend is recorded. Referral click records are held only as long as needed to attribute a referral.

Deletion is triggered by three things: you clearing your browser storage, the retention window for a given record expiring, and a valid request from you. Correspondence you send us is kept while the matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards so that a follow-up question can be answered, then removed. There is no archive kept for its own sake, and no backup retained beyond the ordinary cycle of the systems that serve the site.

Some records cannot be deleted by us because they are not ours. Once you follow a broker link, the retention of your onboarding documents, transaction records and account history is set by FxPro under its own policy and, depending on the entity, by financial record-keeping obligations that require certain records to be held for years. Those records sit with the broker, and requests about them must be made there.

Broker cookies and the broker's own policy

When you follow a link to a broker, that broker sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. The desk does not control those cookies and cannot read them, so the broker's policy is the document that governs that part of the journey.

Read the broker's privacy and cookie material before you open an account, in the same way you would read its product documents. The regulator position is worth checking at the same time: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK) and CySEC and does not hold an ASIC licence, so Australian residents deal with an offshore entity.

Traffic counting and local storage

The site counts traffic in aggregate only, so the desk can tell which pages are read without identifying individual readers. No profile is built from a visit, and the counts are not used to target content at a person.

Local storage in your browser holds your own preferences, such as a setting you chose on a calculator. That data stays on your device, and clearing your browser storage removes it.

The cookie types this site uses and the job each one does

Tasman Coin uses a small number of cookie categories, each with a defined purpose: strictly necessary cookies that let pages load and keep a session stable, preference cookies that remember choices such as your selected lot size, and measurement cookies that count page views in aggregate. A fourth category covers broker referral cookies, which are set when you click through to FxPro so the referral can be attributed. Nothing outside these categories is set by us.

Strictly necessary and preference cookies are the ones that make the site usable; blocking them may mean your calculator resets on each visit or a page fails to render as intended. Measurement cookies report counts and referrers rather than identities, so the output is a number of visits to a page, not a profile of a visitor. Referral cookies only become relevant when you follow a broker link, and they are governed by the broker's own policy once you land there.

You control all of this from your browser. Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies per site, and clearing storage removes preference data such as saved calculator values. Because the categories do different jobs, blocking everything will not break the reference content but will reduce convenience and will stop referral attribution from working. No cookie on this site is used to build a cross-site advertising profile of you.

Affiliate tracking, stated plainly and without a sales pitch

Tasman Coin earns money through affiliate links to FxPro. When you click a broker link on this site and later open or fund an account, the broker may pay us a referral fee. That payment comes from the broker, not from you, and it does not change the price you are quoted. It does mean we have a commercial interest in you choosing that broker, and you should weigh our content with that in mind.

The tracking that supports this is a referral identifier attached to the link plus a cookie that records the click. It tells the broker that a visit originated here; it does not tell us your account balance, your trades, your deposit amounts or your identity. We do not receive a feed of your activity, and we cannot see what you do after you leave. Any figure you see on this site, including the $385.00 margin example, is unaffected by whether you click.

Editorially, the commercial arrangement does not buy a claim. We do not describe spreads, commissions or swaps as cheap, tight or competitive, because we were not given figures for them and would not state a cost we cannot substantiate. Where a cost exists, we describe what it consists of and what it depends on. If a broker's terms change, the affiliate relationship does not oblige us to soften that description.

FAQ

Common questions

What information does Tasman Coin collect when I read a page?

The site collects the technical data a web server normally records, such as the pages you request and basic device and browser information, plus anything you type into the contact form. It does not ask for your broker login, identity documents or card details, and you should never send those through the site.

Does the site track me across other websites?

The site may use cookies for basic function and to measure which pages are read, and affiliate links can tell the broker that a visit came from here. It does not build a profile of your trading account. You can block or clear cookies in your browser, though some site functions may then behave differently.

What happens to the details I submit through the contact form?

Contact form details are used to answer your message and to check the page you are querying, and are kept only as long as needed for that purpose. They are not sold. Do not include account numbers, identity documents or trading credentials, because the desk has no need for them and cannot protect them.

Is my data sent offshore, and does Australian privacy law apply?

The site is run for Australian readers, but service providers such as hosting and email can store data outside Australia, so your information may be processed overseas. Australian privacy law sets expectations for how personal information is handled; if you need certainty about where a specific item is held, ask before submitting it.

Does the site store any payment or funding information?

No. Tasman Coin does not process deposits or withdrawals and never handles funding details. If you open a broker account and fund it in Australia, that happens between you and the broker, often by PayID or bank transfer, under the broker's own privacy terms rather than this site's.
